I have lived with three, different, African (not African-American) roommates. None of them ever met. These were three, different, living situations. Yet, all three of them would slam the door when they entered or exited a room or the apartment...even when they weren't upset about anything. Have any of you ever experienced this or have you been to Africa before? Is it normal behavior there? Even after I told them that it is not acceptable to slam doors in America, they kept doing it. For the record: Besides the door-slamming thing, we always got along so I know they weren't doing it to be mean to me.

I don't think you can generalise this just because those three people are from the same country. :)

If they are over 40, maybe you can ask why do 40+ men slam doors, or if they're all accountants, you can ask why do accountants slam doors? lol.. just wanted to convey that its a little bit unwise to generalize based on a country.

Because they are not use to them. Your right they do slam doors, I've lived in a apartment complex full of them and they all slammed their doors. I could even hear them slamming their bedroom door.
