just keep her inside and away from male cats. She can't mate if there are no cats to mate with. If you think she is in a lot of unnecessary pain, contact a vet and ask what you should do.

the only pain a cat in heat has is horniness. not painful just frustrating. some cats cry from it cause they want it so bad, not from pain. give her special treats, and some extra love and she will get through it. try to let her be 1 1/2 or 2 yrs old she will be a much better mother. be very careful not to let her out, she will try to sneak by you ...

She's not in pain, despite the way it may sound - but she's most definitely (you should pardon the crudity) horny, and she's doing her level best to let any male cat in the area know about it. She will cycle in and out of heat every couple of weeks; until you're ready to breed her, you'll just have to grin and bear it.

There isn't anything you can do, sorry.

Why are you planning to breed her? With so many kittens dying in shelters, unless your cat is a show cat or a cat with EXTRAORDINARY bloodlines, don't add to the population. There's just no need.
