Hummers are not ugly, they are there for buyer who wants a second car to have fun with or show off, remember when people where buying the original military hummers to have fun in and as far as mpg they are a lot better than the military issue hummer most buy them as a status symbol not a main driver.

Hummers are not ugly, they are industrial.
However the H2 looks pretty silly, its uncomfortable, uncapable, slow and it still gets horrible mpg's.
The H3 is a little hipper, but if your going to buy a vehicle for a reason why not just overlook the whole Hummer brand.
Capable vehicle: Mercedes G wagon, Jeep
Comfortable vehicle: Mercedes G wagon
Good gas mileage: Toyota
Trendy: Mercedes G wagon
Also I think a few people are disgusted at the driver for buying a military utility vehicle to commute to work, way to go retarded USA!

It is basically the tast of the people who do not appeal to how the hummer is designed.
Honestly it is not designed for aesthetic or visual purpose. The group who designed the Hummer had these things in mind.
1. Function
2. Buildability
3. Strength and durability
4. Repairability (Fast)
It never occured to please normal civilians per say. But it appealed to the roughnecks who will use them to win battles.
Not a lot of people admire the workmanship of a Glock but it is effective to be used by Rap Stars.
Hummer just needs to be desensitized for More Gangland Urban Terrorist Rap Groups to use in MTV Videos. Then and only then CSI Miami will get the Cuban Release of the HUmmer ...

Hummers are odd looking, but they aren't ugly. People who hate Hummers either owned one and it turned out to be a pile of crap, or else they're environmentalists who want to save the air.

Hummers are ugly! If you want to buy a Hummer you should just buy a full size Chevy truck, its the same chassis and much better looking.

The originals are a utilitarian design, like the Unimog or a Jeep.
The H2 is an utter poseurmobile (less capable than just about every serious 4x4 ever made) designed to look like the utilitarian, highly capable H1. It's the idea of tarting up a tool that just comes off as poor taste.
Think "jewel encrusted screwdriver"

They have no place being on our roads in this day and age where we are suppose to be concerned about the environment. It just shows that the person driving it just doesn't care at all about anyone else but themselves.
