Because I don't like feeling old.

I have a 3yr old boy and we've made a deal that he would stop growind at 5yrs old. I don't want him to grow too fast cuz they are so precious when they are little. When they get older they become more independent and in my case I love being a mom, so I don't want him to grow apart from me. Right now I am his best of bestest friends and I feel so special. I love it when he wraps his arms around me and gives me kisses--and if I play and say no I don't want ur kiss, he starts laughing so loud and grabbing at my face to try to kiss me. It is so sweet and I know he wont do that when he's older and has his guy friends around. He is a boy and boys are boys and he will go do his boy things when he's older, which I'm sure wont be with his mom. Its not that hard being a mom--really--and I don't want to stop being mommy and start being an old person that my kid dont even want to hang around anymore. If you love kids you gotta know what I'm talking about.

I keep telling my daughter to stop growing and she just doesn't listen! I love her being little and I wish she could be little for a much longer time than shes going to be. But growing up is a part of life. I loved a lot (not all) of the experiences I've had while growing up. I dont want my child to miss out on that part of life. But its gonna be hard for me to see her grow up and away.

there are days i can't wait for him to turn 18. there are days when i think he's the cutest thing and i never want him to grow up. being a single parent, i think i am missing out on a lot of things. for example, my parents took him this weekend so i would have some time off, and they had all these pictures of him that were adorable. and i felt bad because i wasn't there. when he starts to crawl, his first word, his first step, who is going to be there? not me because i have to work constantly to support the two of us. it's too hard.

but then i think, in 13 years i am going to have a teenager. i can't even imagine it. i'm only 19. then he won't be so cute. and i bet i will hate him as much as he will hate me. and things will be said that aren't meant, and feelings will be hurt and tears will be shed. it's much easier to be this age, wishing he was old enough to sleep through the night so i could get some, than imagining the future with someone that will turn out to be a stranger. it's hard.

Because we just blink our eyes and they're grown up and leaving our nest. Honestly, I didnt' think my kids would grow up as fast as everyone told me they would, and now I just wish I could turn back time.
I love every age that my children have been, but i'll always miss those sweet times when they were newborns.

Not sure exactly what you meant. I don't want my kids to grow up toofast because I did and I surely miss childhood. Kids who "grow up too fast" generally loose whatever sense of responsibility that they had and will rebel more as adults and end up in trouble. So in my opinion let them be little for as long as they can.
Plus they're my BABIES, it's hard to see them blow out those candles every year!

i don't want my babies to grow up at all! my son's 1st birthday was 3 months ago and i broke down in tears, in wal-mart!, while i was buying decorations. every day he gets bigger. every day is learns something new, everyday he becomes more independent. and everyday he is one day closer to those teenage years when he will hate me for no other reason than i am his parent.
