I am a Wiccan witch, so yes, I believe in witchcraft. Witchcraft is performed in several different religious contexts; not all witches are Wiccans, but most Wiccans are witches.
Witchcraft 101 would go something like this, at least as I was taught: All things in the universe are interconnected by energy, which some witches (including Wiccans) perceive as Divine in nature. This is how witchcraft works: by focussing my intent, and using sympathetic correspondances (certain herbs for courage, for example), I can create an amulet using those herbs which will stimulate courage in the person who wears it. Similarly, by using a lock of hair from a person who is ill, I can (with their permission) set energies in motion that will help them to heal.
Witchcraft is not a game, or a toy. It is a serious process of setting energies in motion, some of them quite large. And if you're not careful, the backlash can be very nasty.
Say, for example, you do a spell to get $2000 to pay a bill, but do not specify "with harm to none" or any other conditions. You might end up getting that $2000 dollars -- because you slipped on some ice, broke your arm, and are getting an insurance settlement worth $2000. Each spell has to be carefully thought out and prepared, and executed with focus, or else nothing at all is going to happen.
There are also consequences for performing any spell, at least in Wiccan thought: we call it the Rule of Three, and it states that anything you do, for good or ill, will come back to you at least three times over. Therefore, if you perform beneficial spells, beneficial energy will come back to you. If you perform harmful spells... let's just say that you'll get a good karmic kick in the a$$ at some point.
In itself, witchcraft is neither "good" nor "evil" -- it is simply a technique of causing change in the universe in accordance with your own will. It's the intention of the witch that makes all the difference.
Hope this helps.

Witchcraft is, simply put, the use of folk magic. Folk magic employs charms, herbs, incantations or simple rituals to cause a desired effect - usually to create, protect, or destroy something. Witchcraft is a near universal practice, found in every culture, throughout the whole of history. It is not a distinct religion with distinct rituals and beliefs of it's own - but exists symbiotically within the context of a larger cultural or religious complex, making use of its rituals, symbols, and customs.
And no, nothing bad is going to happen to you if you practice it.

Yes, I believe in it. Depending on how you employ magick and/or witchcraft, good or bad can come from it. If you cast a spell to help someone else, good comes from it, if you cast a spell to harm somewhere else, only bad comes from it.
In my opinion and the only way I can really explain it is that magick and witchcraft is very "karmatic".

I know for a fact, that you will open yourself up to spiritual attacks.
Its just as if you hear a knock at your front door, you look through the peep hole and see an ugly hideous demonic looking person holding an axe. Keep the door locked and closed and he cannot come in. Open the door and invite him inside and he will attack you. Performing spells or chanting or even Ouija boards can be portal to the spiritual world. Some demonic beings have the power to cross over and into this world if they are invited to do so. Be careful of what you don't understand.
I will also tell you that when you turn against God in this manner, He will allow you to suffer the consequences. Part of thos consequences are His spiritual protection from the forces of evil.
These demonic beings cannot contact you while God is protecting you. However, if these demonic forces can manipulate you into inviting them into your realm, you will face them without any protection from God. God is greater than any spell, cast your worries, wants and desires to Him instead. In this way He will be free to bless you. I have been down the road you are seeking to travel. I thank God Almighty for saving me from certain spiritual death. God Bless You....Peace.

Depends on the type of spell and if you use protection methods available!
Best advice is don't play with something until you understand what the posstives and negatives are! Other wise you may get burned!
