what i did was... fully wet your hair... gather it all at once... have a freind help u if u need.. basically take all of your hair and pull it up verically or at like 60 degrees up
take your comb and make sure every hair is even.. get really shapr scissors and cut at a ninety degree angle
make sure u cut it at once... u cant really let the hair fall down gradually as its being cut and expect to be able to back to it and even it out
get a friend to help
notes... hold the hair evenly
sharp scissors
cut at ninenty degrees and continuously
this may not work depending on your hair length,, mine is mid back still and it does look good
if u arent sure about it.. go to a cheap salon like first choice and ask them to do it
hopefully this helps but if in doubt try and go to a salon
sorry about all the spelling errors
dont worry im not like a ten yr old tellin u how to cut yoru hair... im 17 =P

NO.
Personal experience talking. Don't ever do drastic haircuts, like layering, at home. Hairdressers have special scissors, general equipment, and training that you probably don't have. They can also see if they are cutting your hair evenly. It should be noted that not even hairstylists give themselves drastic cuts. They usually cut each others' hair, and do basic styling on their own.
A stylist is worth every penny. Don't do your hair at home, or you will regret it.

No, I've done it 3 times, and I always have to get it fixed in a Salon afterwards, it's embarrasing, I always tell them I let my sister cut my hair!

no ...i kinda did that once myself and it turned out really short and long in some of the same layers.. you have to have the right scissors and movements to get the look you want .. i suggest that u go to ur stylist and tell him.her how u want it to look and they'll do it for you .

NO it is very HARD to do yourself because you will be cutting backwards. Have someone who KNOWS how to cut hair do it.
You will be glad you did.
