well take the hearing test when you get there... at most it may just disqualify you from certain jobs! and you may even be able to get a waiver!

I am a 10 year Recruiter, so maybe I can help. First of all, depending on how severe your hearing loss is, they can get a medical waiver for you.
Have you went to MEPS yet? If not, put cotton in your ear for the entire day before going to MEPS and avoid loud noises, stereos, etc. If you MEPS is not nearby, have your Recruiter put you up in the gov't contracted hotel the night before, especially if there is significant elevation changes during the trip to MEPS.
Be sure to wear the cotton in your ear when you sleep the night before MEPS. That is about all you can do. If the Marines don't get the waiver approved, try the Army. Also, check out the Guard. www.1800goguard.com

Only 15, wait a few years my young friend. Buckle down and study, get good grades, keep yourself in good physical condition. Shoot for , instead of ground squirrels, Straight A's and stay out of trouble. Keep away from drugs. Don't smoke. You might even change your pick of the Mil. Go AF instead.
Your hearing won't keep you out of the mil. Army, Marines, AF or Navy. I had high freq loss in both ears. Just prevented me from being a diddy bopper, i.e., Intercept operator-radio.
Good luck
Hisemiester,
Oh one other thing. Don't lie to anyone at MEPS, it will bite you. Forget what the recruiter said about trying to beat the system.

i was in the Marines yes they will accept you if it isnt to bad. I am totally deaf at high frequency in both ears. The y still took me. Plus you can probablly get a waiver for it. If you think your a good shot go into the Marines you'll love it.

No way to tell, the Medical Officers are the only ones who can decide in your case. Just go in and find out, you will either pass or not. If you don't you will find something else you excel at that you like, because you are probably good at many things. Good luck!
And it doesn't suck to not be in combat. Logistics (support) is what wins wars, the U.S. is the best at it, it's how we won WWII and if you ended up in Logistics, you might still be in combat. Point is, let your life story go in whatever direction works best for you, and never have regrets.
And glad you want to serve. Thanks! Your time will come, but in the mean time, enjoy where you are.

Just go to MEPS and they will let you know before the sign you up. Just remember that you don't have to sign up until after they give you your MOS. Marines, 600 Yard shot, Your in if you can fog a mirror. Semper Fi

MEPs are bastards but I think your fine, thats something you can get a waiver for. You can still get combat arms jobs to so that good.
Also, that's a pretty good shot but you said that your eyes were bad, depending on how bad would disqualify you from sniper or marine scout sniper, but other than that you good to go.

It is good to see a kid that wants to defend this country.
That is quite a shot. The round drops about 18 inches in that distance, as I remember. Good shooting.
I shot so well in the Army they said they turned my name in to FBI.

One thing I've always believed and passed on to my troops when I was in: YOU'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO IF YOU DON'T TRY.
Good luck!
