Warning some comments might be used in an English paper.

The United States spends 350 trillion dollars of tax money per year to keep drugs and drug dealers and makers off the streets. If we legalized drugs Americans would have to spend less money for taxes, be safer because there would be no need for gangs to kill over illegal drugs, and so on. So why can’t we combat something illegal by making it legal. We would save so much money and I believe the United States would be a safer place to live. What do you think? Yes or no. why or why not. Let me know please.

I can understand where you are coming from. But with that said I would have to say not to legalize drugs.

My reason behind that is because it may save money in one department but it will increase the expenses in other law enforcement. They would have to make sure all laws are followed. They would also have to make sure no one is driving under the influence of drugs (it would be like DUI). all of those examples would add cost.

plus the government would be helping countries like Columbia and other extreme countries.

The government would also have to develop a license program (or something similar) for people who sell the drugs. then there would be people breaking those rules and/or not have a license

Also most people don't act as normal and would do stupid things that they would never due silver (like murder or other serious crimes).

By the way you may use any of the above on your paper.

I think it would benefit everyone, not only the user, the abuser, and the crusiers , but they would be no reason for killing one another over something that stupid in the first place. Tax it , put that money towards social security deficit that we are so called lacking , due to the government that always promises what?? I lived in a dry county for a long time, everyone would drive 20 miles to buy alcohol, then everyone wondered why there were so many accidents affected by alcohol?? Think about this one...less crime all around, more money for all .

Because then people would be able to sue the government if someone overdosed. Just like the smokers' families who sued when their smoker died.

Do you have any idea how many more people would die from drugs if it was legal? How many more tax dollars we'd shell out for those on medicade/medicare to treat drug caused health problems?

While yes - on one hand it does sound good- but on the other, we'd spend much more money if it were legal.

All we need is to legalize drugs and encourage those who were too afraid to try them in the first place, and turn this nation into a drug ravaged country of zombies. Is this what we need, or want?
