I agree with 'karma', I don't have children myself but ALL close friends I know will complain once in a blue moon thinking maybe their lives are better off without children. Usually that happens when they have marital problem and feeling trapped in the marriage or when their children being disrespectful.

I don't regret having my two kids. They are age 4 and 2 1/2 right now. My first was born when I was 22 - I regret having them at such a young age, but I try and tell myself that I have the energy to deal with them and I don't have to be 35 years old with a 2 year old.
I believe that if a person does "regret" having their kids, there is an underlying reason. Maybe you feel you didn't get to enjoy your youth, i.e. clubbing, socializing or what not, maybe missed job opportunities or not having the right person you wanted to have kids with....or possibly being just selfish. Some people were not meant to have kids and they ended up with them.
I feel strongly that you should never regret your kids, but look forward to the joy they bring..even during the rough times...it's hard, but treat them like you would want them to treat you when you get older.

I laugh at the folks who have children under 5. Temper tantrums are nothing compared to teenagers being delivered by the police. Freshman algebra? Hah. Economics in 2nd. grade? Regret? No . . .just fantasize about being alone on an island next to a tiki bar and a wave runner at hand.

no regrets about having children, just some regrets on doing some things different about having them, things i did not know at the time of conception but know now.

Oh yeah, I know many people that were accidents (including my mother), and I know many people that regret having their children. They think that they would've had a better life without all the dedication a child requires and most may have lost many things and dreams due to that.

You can regret not raising the child better, not giving him/her a better life, not teaching them better manners, not letting them make their own mistakes and you can regret when you had the child and who you had the child with but you will never regret having the child at all

I wouldnt say Ive ever regretted having my daughter, but I do sometimes think of what it would have been like without her....I think any mother who says they have NEVER thought about a life without their child/children is fooling themselves.

I have adored babies since I was just older than a baby !
And I couldn't wait to grow up and have mine. I did, I had 2 and loved it, but the unbelievable stress and energy it takes, and I loved them and wanted them. I'm sure some people who weren't so excited to get PG, may not tell the truth, or if you see very un-ruly kids in the store, that might be a good sign, because to love someone is to discipline them.
