Oh honey.... everyone in high school THINKS they know what they want to major in. I guarantee you they will change majors at least three or four times before they settle on something!!!

Here's what you do. Go to college... go as "undeclared..." and take the courses needed to get your basics out of the way (English, Math, Science...etc). Talk to a college counselor about these courses.... don't overload yourself the first year. Spend time exploring the various classes you have to take ANYWAY... then, about the end of your 2nd year of college, some favorite subject/career will rise to the surface. You may discover that you LOVE science and there is a particular field that really interests you. By the beginning of your Junior year of college you will be more focused in on what you really want... while all of your friends are realizing they just wasted two years taking "specialty" courses that they cannot transfer to their new major.

What kinds of things do you enjoy doing? Now is a good time for you to get involved with a variety of activities at school and do some volunteer work in areas that interest you so you can get a feel for what you might want to do with the rest of your life.

Most colleges don't require you to declare your major until your sophomore year, and you can always change, so you still have plenty of time. Some people know from a very early age what they want to do with their lives, and others take time to try a variety of things. Don't worry about what others are doing--focus on what's the best way for you to figure out what you're passionate about.

If you want some guidance, try talking to a teacher or counselor at your school, your parents, or another adult who you trust. They should help you explore your options.

OK, DONT PANIC! Hi, Im a sohomore in highschool, too, and I have no freakin clue as to what Im going to do with my life. I say, you dont need to worry about that now, so DONT! I have done a considerable amount of research about college, and have figured out that the whole point of college is for you to find out what you want to do. There are zillions of different and varried courses that you can take, this way, you can find what you like. Highschool is not the time or place to be sealing your future. Youre only a teenager damn it! My advice - ask this question again in a few more years (if you even need to by then).

The best thing to do in your situation, is to go to a University or College with good programs all around. Take into account things that have always interested you. If you like movies, but not necessarily acting, check into schools with good film programs, if you like music, but you're not a musician, check into schools with music engeneering/production programs. If you're good with kids and enjoy being around them look into education, the world could use more teachers. Don't rush yourself into a major, the first two years of college are usually spent finishing general education classes, you have plenty of time to figure out your major, make sure it's something you want to do for the rest of your life. Best of luck.

It all depend on what your interests are. And this may surprise you, but it is a job out there for everything just research it. And if you have more than one thing in mind..... weigh out your options, you know, what pays more, or what you love to do. Whatever you want your career to be, You have to love it, reason being is because this is something you have to wake up to everyday. Now what job YOU wouldn't care about waking up to every single morning.

i dont think that you have to worry about what you major in a this point in time. Usually when you go to a college you will meet with a conseler/ adviser who will help you. they will ask you what you are interested in and they will tell you what kind of felds you might what to look into majoring in, but i think that at this point you dont need to worry about it, just keep an open mind to what kind of things realy interest you.

The best thing you can do is declare your major as 'undecided', take some core courses, and see what you like; you'll figure it out.

Take an aptitude test. That way you will get an idea at what you would be good at doing. Your guidance councilor should be able to tell you how to get it done.
