I have known this guy for like two years, and he really likes me. At first I just shrugged it off, but now I really like him. He and I are interested in the same things, and we talk a lot, but here are some difficulties: hes a grade younger than me, but we're the same age becuz i have a summer b-day and got into school early, he's a little boyishly gross sometimes, but what boy isnt? Also, I told him id go out with him in the summer, so i didnt have to deal with my friends who hate him. but now i want to go out with him, and i dont know how to ask, or if i should.

i am sort of shy, and he would tell my friends that i asked him out, he didnt ask me out, and they would go crazy. i dont know what to do!

Your friends must have a reason for hating him, so I suggest you be careful.
Why not ask him to go on a double date, or with a group? There is a certain amount of safety in numbers. Once you go out with him, you could explain some of the things that turn you off.
It sounds like the boy is simply a bit confused. He is not sure how to get your attention, so he tries to be gross. You can accept a certain amount of that (which is normal), but you have to know where to draw the line.

I know how that is, alot of my friends didnt like my current boyfriend. But, we started going out and they just accepted hm, because if their true friends they'll want what makes you happiest, and respect how you feel about him. Well, if you really like him, then its a great idea, I tell you now, if you dont you could be making the biggest mistake EVER. I almost did, but now Im with the guy of my dreams and loving every second

Hey, if you guys like each other just go for it. A grade younger doesnt make much of a difference unless ure in grade school or something. If you have trouble asking him out, do it in a note or tell one of your friends to hint around with him... I'm sure he won't mind not waiting till summer, unless he has a list of girlfriends planned till then. lol. just go for it.

this might sound a bit obvious but just ask him if you both like each other then the hard part is over and if ur worried about ur friends, there not ur friends unless they can except everything about your life including who u date.

If you love him then ask him out. Just say "Would you like to go out with me" or "Want to get together sometime/Firday night?" or something along those lines, good luck sweetie

if you want to date him do it! live your life! don't let your friends stop you from dating someone just because they don't like the guy. but i would be careful with those younger ones...im 19 and my boyfriend is 25 and he's still too imature for me sometimes...

if you really like this guy your friends should support you. hopefully he will say yes if you ask him out. you guys seem like you would make a good couple. i hope everything works out.
