Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both. The best foods for that are proteins. Models, when they want to get in shape for performance go into a cottage cheese and vegetables diet, eliminating as much as possible simple carbohydrates (breads, cakes, cookies etc..) but make sure to add some complex carbs such a whole grain foods and breads, you need the fuel too. Don't get anorexic on me now.....

If you want to turn your fat into muscle, you might not lose that much weight. But a lot of excercise like jogging and doing sit ups will help. As long as you stay active, and don't eat junk food your body should become more toned.

117 is already very low (while still healthy) for your height. You don't need to lose any weight, just tone. I suggest you start exercising more (cardio and abdominal workouts). If none of that works, it may just be genetic. The best thing for you to do is talk to your doctor.

Reduce your own stress. Your stress hormone cortisol may be activated by extremely low-calorie eating plans, intense training, lack of sleeping and day-to-day worries, which brings about a spike in glucose levels within your blood. More worryingly, it can give rise to blocked arteries and fat build up around your internal organs, putting you susceptible to diabetes and heart disease. The sole prescription for this is to… relax.

Wear comfy shoes so you can take meetings for a walk as an alternative to sitting at a desk.
