Hmm... Well it technically is illagal to have any spark plugs or fuel injectors in the exhaust. I personally think flamethrowers are cool, but depending on the setup, will much your gas (costing $) and costs $ to setup to begin with. Just make sure to temporarily remove it when going in for your yearly inspection, and try to avoid using your flame thrower in front of a nearby officer.

First of all, let me tell you that it is illegal. It is also dangerous. With that being said, you will need a 12V ignition coil, spark plug, and some people will use a solenoid with a nozzle and hook up a tank of propane. The coil and the solenoid are wired to a switch, some even use 2 switches in series. One to enable the circuit and another switch that is made when the gas pedal is pushed to the floor. That's one way to do it. I still don't think you should do it. But it's your life. good luck.

All or nothing. You better have more than just flames. And it better not be something like a Kia...
I'd also recomend it not be your "I'm driving to work today" car.
Black Dodge Charger with flames and chrome - yeah.
Red Vintage Ford Mustang with flames - ok.
White Kia Spectra with flames - no.

Try to imagine what 5 years in prison might be like, and THEN decide if it's a good idea.
HECK, why go half way? install a couple machine guns and maybe a grenade launcher or two.

Bad idea. I'd much rather have a belt-fed machine gun or recoilless rifle in the bed of my truck.

Won't work. There's no oxygen in exhaust. Today's magic word is "stochiometric". Understand that word, and you'll know why afterburners work on jets, and not cars.
