im a jeep dealer. the patriot is a great new vehicle that is being released. it is using the same engine as the jeep compass, base jeep liberty, dodge caliber, and pt cruiser. the patriot and the jeep compass are basically the same vehicle w/ a different body on it. what you have to consider is the weight of the vehicle vs. the horsepower/torque that the vehicle has. the more weight the more engine you will need. the jeep compass comes only w/ a 4 cyl but is a smaller vehicle. toyota makes the rav4, jeep also has the liberty in both 4cyl and 6cyl. the 4cyl is a great engine, but you will have a quieter ride/sound from the v6 than the 4cyl. gas mileage is going to be about the same (1-2 mpg more) since the 4cyl will have to work harder to move the weight.

If you want a nice american small suv with a whole lot of power (but still great gas millage) and around the same price as a Patriot, get the Saturn Vue. Honda worked a deal with GM that involved GM getting rights to use the Honda J35 V6 in their Vue suvs. What that means is that the Vue offers a great, reliable, V6, japanese engine in an all-american car. You will never have reliability problems like you would in a jeep (or almost any daimler-chrysler product). Sure it might not stand out as much as the Patriot, but I personally think it looks nice and is an overall better deal.

There are two general advantages with a 4 cylinder. Gas mileage and price. A V-6 Will give you more power - higher speeds with less RPM. I don't know about the newer Jeeps but I've often read bad things about them in Consumer Reports. Consider the Saturn Vue. Nice SUV. Very affordable. Your choice of V-6 or 4 cylinder. I bought mine new in 2003 for under 20,000. Take your time, and good luck!

Just because they don't have miles doesn't make them new. If you purchased the cars and didn't drive either and went to resell it tomorrow no car dealer would consider either car new because the Suzuki is a 2 year old model and the jeep is a year old. If you have to pick either go with the Jeep it's newer and Suzukis are one of the worst brands in terms of resale value. Jeeps aren't great but they're slightly better, although with gas creaping up to $4 a gallon it's a pretty bad idea to buy an SUV.

Patriot Self Defense system is successful for 2 main factors. The initial is that it make use of straightforward steps integrated from all the most effective fighting styles around. The second is that the makers of this program really did not stop there, they took these moves into the lab and ran all sorts of clinical examinations to accumulate as much data as possible before readying to function to assess this information and assembled a clinical developed protection system that rather truthfully revolutionizes the market.

i own a repair shop, and one just has more power than the other one does ,and gets about the same mileage,as far as one being any better than the other one,the v-6 engines do hold up a lot better,Chevy has a nice one in the blazer and it has a v-6 and is priced about the same as the jeep is,really you have so much to choose from,it would be hard to buy one if you looked at all the ones on the market now, what you might want to do is go out and look a few of them, you,ll be surprised at what all is out there now, good luck,i hope this help,s.

yes it does, basically the 4-cylinder jeeps are city-use vehicles only and are good if you need it for what you would need a car for. but i have owned 3 jeep libertys (leases) and they have v6's in them. they use a little bit more gas but they are very nice. the only reason jeep has even made a 4-cylinder is because they are trying, like all american motor companies, to keep up with foreign car makers that are taking over the u.s.a.

I like the Patriot and the Compass, but I also like a very reliable car like the Ford Escape with a 5 speed transmission, or a Vue, very good cars all of them.
