Not really. One time I went to the movies with an old male friend of mines. We are really good friends, and he was the one that invited me to see the movie. I didn't see it as a date, I just saw it as a night out, two friends just trying to have fun. I consider it a date when somebody that I now really likes me and is looking forward to have a relationship with me. Other than that, I just see it as just a night out.

Hi. A date is simply a time in the future that you would like to spend with your friend, nothing more.

Not all the time. You can just take a girl to the movie if both of you understand that that is all it is.

Well, geez, not all dates take place in a movie theater. If you want to go to a movie, you will, but it's not guaranteed.
