Ask him into your life, the Lord lives within us, admit that he arose from the cross, and was a sacrifice for our sins, repent and turn away from your sins, be forgiven, and then you will have a personal relationship with God, you don't have to die first, God lives amongst us each and every day, if He didn't, there would only be darkness in this world.

"Die" is not literal in the scripture you are referring to (I'm assuming this is from a scripture passage). You need to "die" to your old self (sinful ways) and accept that Jesus is the only one who can save you. You cannot be saved by any good deeds. Of course, you will not become some kind of super Christian overnight... and you will continue to sin. To "die" is to change what is in your heart. To have a desire for pleasing God over pleasing man. If you want to find out more without investing much time in reading, read the book of John.

Yes. I did. I'm not even religious, and still am not.
No one can prove it to you (yet), but there is so much you can do to go most of the way. I wish I could say I deserved what happened to me, that I struggled to have it happen. I didn't, nor did it make me superior or give me a mission or message.
But it did change my life utterly, and I no longer believe in God.
I know God exists.
Again, this is not proof for you, nor should you ever take such as proof. But it might help point the way.

You've already met him with all the people around you who love and care about you. God is love!! Also by going before God in prayer, you of course won't see him in person but you can be quiet and listen out for the true inner voice within.

Spiritually by admitting you are a sinner, acceptign the payment of your sin by Jesus Christ death on a cross and ressurrection three days later and then calling upon Him to save you.

You meet Him through your obedience and by loving others. You can start by respecting His name by capitalizing it.
