Well i don't really know if it's relevant or not, but i had a friend who had sought for asylum in the UK but was turned down by the home office. Anyway because she was under 18 they let her stay in the country until her 18th Birthday, after which she returned home. So therefore yes amnesty should be allowed under certain circumstances.
Furthermore, the country isn't as overpopulated as the media makes out - The media has caused a moral panic within society in order to ridicule Blair and his policy. Like someone once said on one of the boards, most illegal immigrants are sent back home eventually.

If amnesty was granted to failed asylum seekers it would make a mockery of the whole system, people would just enter the country, fail in there bid to stay in the UK and get amnesty, what a joke!

On the assumption they have failed a fair and thorough investigation into their asylum claim - no they should not be granted amnesty to stay.

There are always other countries they can apply to, perhaps the first one they stopped in en route to the UK?

No. The failed asylum seekers failed to obtain asylum status for a reason.

No personally I think that when somebody is found at the point of entry in the UK they should be returned to where they came from which would be,as we are an island, where ever they boarded the plane or ferry and not forgetting the train. They are illegal and any that are already here should be deported the day they are told they have failed no appeal. Why should my money keep them.

FAILED ??? I Know every effort is being made to "Wipe Out" our way of Life in Great Britain by the Armies of Invading so Called Immigrants -- but as far as I know the English Language is still Mostly "Intact" so as I understand it "Failed" means just that -- your Application has Failed means -- No - you can,t live here in the United Kingdom ---- So Leave - Now --- But because we are burdened with a Weak - Anti British Government- these "Unwanted" Gits are Still with us --- sucking our systems Dry --- and telling us to "Change Our Ways" to their Liking ---- Simple reality -- "We Don,t want you --- your Application has "Failed" so Phuck of -- NOW

Are you serious? If they have failed it must be for a reason surely? You cannot then turn round and say forget the immigration procedures.Just come in anyhow, everybodys welcome.Surely we have got to have some safeguards to stop the flood of immigrants etc. Before long they will have to change the name from England to Dr Banardos unless we start closing the door.

No they are a drain on the countries resources, they ruin it the many genuine asylum seekers to whom we have a legal as well as moral duty to help.

definitely not!

If they failed to be granted asylum why should they be allowed to stay?

We already have so many people wanting to live here who have that right - we have not the room to take others.
