Just get on the plane and go home. technically you have 4 days overstay but there is no punishment for you really. technically also you can be just removed without a hearing because you agreed to that when you came in as a visa waiver, but that is highly unlikely unless you have an enemy who is calling ICE every day. so basically nothing will happen. There is NO extension for the visa waiver program.

You could face a 5 year ban from reentering any Schengen country. DO NOT overstay your visa. Go to a non-Schengen country before your visa expires - get a cheap flight to Turkey for example. Then reenter the Schengen zone through another country (not Germany) and then travel to Germany -- though you might not be allowed back in

The best thing to do is to leave before the termination date. Your airline may work with you on this.

If not, go to www.cis.gov and get the number of the local office and get try to get an extension (may not be possible on a VWP).

Don't plan on ever coming back to the USA because the computer will automatically list you as an overstay.

Call the imagration department explain the situation and get a 4 day extention, Honesty is the best policy. And being up front with them will help.
