Does anyone know where to start on how to find out about property taxes and what would be cheaper to do deck vs. pavement? I'm sure it is different in different states and counties, but I don't know where to start. I live in Ohio.

I assume you are asking which would increase you taxes less?
If this is the case, then it depends on the appraiser who appraises your property. They may not even look at EVERY property every year. Your local appraisal district will be able to answer your question.

neither.
Decks can be taken down and removed if a buyer did buy your home.
Pavement? If you mean Concrete that's perment and it's taxable BUT Blacktop isn't..
You can't add more then 25% of the total liveable sqft. with out increasing your taxes..
Hope that helps I just went threw this.
