Vomiting once/twice a week is not normal. Vomiting once/twice week because of drinking alcohol means your friend is drinking waaaaaaay too much.
Excessive vomiting throws off your electrolyte balance (especially potassium). That's what screws up your cardiac muscle function.

When you vomit, you get that hot, flushed feeling and an increased heart rate maybe. I don't think its any harder on the heart than moderate exercising is and the duration is usually very short. But drinking until you purge once a week, is not healthy for the liver. And a bad liver puts a strain on the heart. I'm not a doctor so I'm guessing???
She could get low in electrolytes from dehydration and should drink gatorade after vomiting.

Well considering that when you vomit, anything you just ate thats in your stomach is about to come up. The stomach producing bile acid to create this reaction too because it cant handle the poison from the alcohol. It takes energy away too and like sneezing, it stops the heart temporarily. You cant control when you vomit. You saliva will start to gather too letting you know when its about to happen.
Its not a healthy lifestyle but its not life threatening except maybe to your liver. you should consult a doctor as vomiting can destroy the tissues in your throat too and to do it often is bad.

It will do a number on the esophagus, (your throat.) The acids in the food we eat are not meant to go back, also mixed with the highly acidic acids in your stomach. This is a bad idea all over and you gotta help your friend to cut back on the drink. Its bad for your body all over, it will put stress on the body that will effect everything all over including pre-mature aging. Thus over doing it on the alcohol harms your body.. not including just throwing it up involved.

Any time you throw up it puts a strain on the heart, stomach, and esophogus. The more you stress these ordans the more likely you are to damage them.

most people throw up after too much alcohol.
but i image it would be just like sneezing.
your heart kind of skips a beat.
the thing it strains most is your esophagus.
[that long tube in your throat]
