I know it's not practial to have them replaced, but do they ever get old enough that they don't work properly? I know that things such as fire extinguishers eventually become unusable (or at least less usuable.) Are airbags the same? Mine is 11 years old now...

We got control by technology so much, years ago we really don't know what the air bag mean, when you time come... it's come... God take care of you and doesn't matter what... good luck.
