1 Peter 3:10-12

10For,
"Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
11He must turn from evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue it.
12For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

in order to beleive something absurd is absolute truth....you have to really REALLY beleive in it.

The question of its truth, as is the case with many things (biblical and otherwise) has nothing to do with whether one believes it. One could believe that the earth is the center of the universe, but that does not make it so.

Yes definitely, it is a great day to live upright before the Lord.
His favor will be upon you.
If you are willing and obedient you will eat of the good of the land.

If you choose to be a christian and believe by faith--then there is truth for you in what the bible says.
If you choose to not believe--the moral concepts issued in these verses are still good to live by.

To answer your question, "God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged" (Romans 3:4).
