I've only met about 5 Christians on this forum that have had any real care or compassion about other religions/ irreligious people...

And at least 60% of them can't even spell "atheist" right...

So far more than 30 Christians that I've seen so far have stated in some question or another that they "can't wait to see what atheists will face after death" or that they "can't wait to see [them] burn in hell" or that "atheists have no morals because they don't believe in anything."

*Sorry to the few "Christ-like" Christians out there...

No, we aren't supposed to set an example, that is a bunch of garbage.

Christians are supposed to devote their lives to God.

Devoting their lives to be an example for morons would constitute setting morons above God. This would be blaspheme and cause for being condemned to hell.

Real Christians will not do anything to set an example for morons.

Luke 6:26 - Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Have a nice day!

Well, I've never heard of the guy, and i've also not ever heard anybody say that Jesus hates you. I don't think Jesus would appreciate some guy talking for Him - He can handle things quite well on His own. Look, I don't care what group you are with, Christian, Buddhist, or even a knitting group: the fact is, in every group there are good regular people, and then there are nut cases. Thats true of Christians AND all others. We don't have any control over some nut and what he writes into this forum, ya know?? As far as setting athiests an example, well all I can do is that - set an example. Just as you bring up the Christian guy saying those things, there are also questions like: "what would Jesus say if I told him I bent mary over and plucked her?" These questions come in here on a regular basis. So, set an example, yeah, sure, but if by that you mean to just sit here and act like a bunch of wimps, forget it. And to sit here and beg & plead for someone to "find Jesus" - forget that, too. If someone is dead-set against God, there isn't anything that can be said that would change that. God is either your Father, or you have another one, period. Since you are alive, I would have to assume that God feels you deserve to. God knows who's who, and I certainly am not gonna pretend i know better than He does.

YES they/we are! First, I would like to revisit a remark made by Daniel. He said, "And I apologize for my fellow Christians who don't. The really weird thing is that their misbehavior doesn't change whether or not they end up in heaven. Weird huh??" I disagree with this statement. Their "misbehavior" can change whether they end up in heaven or not. According to the scriptures, it is possible for a Christian to be lost there are a number that have been. Two were named by Paul in the BIBLE and we are told that others would be." I challenge each and every Real Christian to be CHRISTLIKE in our actions and words. It should not matter what is said to you or about you. We should be able to turn the other cheek and be as Christ would have been. HE was sinless. We should be able to act as if we care about others even if you really do not. I hope that you do. I certainly do care about others. Matthew 28:18-21 was probably Christ's final words to HIS disciples. It is called the Great Commission and it tells us that we should be reaching, teaching, and baptizing the lost. How can YOU hope to do this if you can not care enough about others to give them respect on this site and answer them in a respectful manner? I am an excellent speller and a half decent writer but at times when I am in a hurry I also misspell words. Please don't hold that against me in this answer. I appologize for any Christian that may have abused any non-Christian whether he/she is an atheist, agnostic , Jew, Hindu, Muslim, or any other religious person on this earth. We should be grown up enough here to be able to act like we have good common sense and sensibility toward one another. No matter who you are, GOD loves you and I do too! Have a great week and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It's too bad that there are that many ppl out there that are so judgemental. I know how I am supposed to live and try to be better each day. I am not perfect and make many mistakes, as all ppl do, regardless of religion or not. If you want to be an atheist then be the best you can and stop worrying about everyone else's behaviour. I tell my kids that the only person they can truly control is themselves. The same is true for you as well. It shouldn't matter to you at all what other ppl say on a forum such as this where they can be whomever they want at the moment. GL

Dude..your just trying to ruffle a few feathers. I am not a fan of organized religion or atheism. Everyone should keep an open mind on 'god' and the universe. I mean no one knos 4 sure..so y do people keep saying they do? I would describe myself as an spritual agnostic...I beleive there is truth to the universe, I have felt it thru meditation and enthergenic substances. I dont think of god as an old man in the sky, but as the eternal energy of the univrerse in which all life is made from. I think all life is one...and once u see beyond the 'self' u can find peace of mind.

Don't bother. Why not choose to be a muslim instead?

The Islamic Q’uran is NON-Contextual and relies on the Bukhari to paint its backdrops. (Top 2 most ‘holy’ Islamic books). These teachings are prevalent throughout the book.

Judge the following for yourself.

Qur’an 8:60 “Infidels should not think that they can get away from us. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them.”
Bukhari:V4B52N260 “The Prophet said, ‘If a Muslim discards his religion, kill him!’”
Qur’an 5:51 “Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends.”
Bukhari [4:52:177]: Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him!"

THOUGH THE ISLAMIC ALLAH WANTS MUSLIMS TO KILL ALL NON-MUSLIMS, MANY MUSLIMS ARE NOT DOING SO AT THIS MOMENT (WITH DISAPPOINTMENT FROM THE FUNDAMENTALIST ISLAMISTS) BECAUSE THEY ARE NOW ENJOYING THEMSELVES, SOME AFRAID OF REPRISALS. DON'T THINK FOR A MOMENT THAT MUSLIMS ARE PEACEFUL. IF THEY SEEM TO BE, THEY ARE ACTUALLY NON-PRACTICING MUSLIMS.

Perhaps you think this is bullshit. But wait. Take a quick glance below of islam’s founder’s behaviour recorded in one of the most authentic Islamic texts ever recorded below and you will not think so again. Remember this, Muhammad personified the teachings of the Q’uran.

MUHAMMED HAS NO MERCY; Sahih Bukhary; and Hanbel.
Bukhary, Volume 1, Book 4, Number 234:

Bukhari, V1B4N234: "A group of people from the Oreyneh and Oqayelh tribes came to the prophet to embrace Islam, the prophet advised them to drink the urine of the camels. Later on when they killed the prophet's shepherd, the prophet seized them, gouged out their eyes, cut their hands and legs, and left them thirsty in the desert to die."

IF MUHAMMAD WAS A MURDERER, A RAPIST, A PEODPHILE, A LIAR, WHAT LESS CAN YOU EXPECT OF HIS FOLLOWERS? MUSLIMS BECOME TERRORISTS BECAUSE THATS WHAT THEY ARE MEANT TO BECOME. BECAUSE THAT IS TRUE ISLAM. WHAT IS TRUE, IS WHAT HAS BEEN WRITTEN, NOT WHAT PEOPLE TELL YOU AND WANT YOU TO BELIEVE.

If people have been saying that, then you are correct that that is the wrong attitude to have. We should be setting an example and have love and compassion as Jesus did, and still does. Though it is true about Heaven and Hell, nobody should be anxious to see anybody "burn in hell." Also, we do not have the right to judge anybody. That is up to God.

Thank you for bringing this point up. It irritates me when people act the way you mentioned.

True Christians could really set a good example not only for the atheists people but for everybody who claimed Christians but not true Christians and other religious groups who are following the wrong path. Some other days the atheist will be c called by God to repent and their faith be back to Him.

Yes, we are. Not that we're supposed to be your role models or anything. :) But the Apostle Paul told the Gentiles to live so that others may see Christ in them, and come to Christ themselves.

This is hard to do, as you might imagine. It's always easier to say something than to actually DO it. And ALL of us come short of the glory of God. We all sin.

Anyway, sorry about your bad experiences with Christians. I think many on here are really defensive, which doesn't lead to an abundance of grace.

Why are you offended, that's if you are, of something that you do not believe in? Hell doomed will be for those who believe in the after life, but atheists (if I am spelling it right) doesn't believe in anything that's spiritual. So it doesn't apply... Feel better!
