how do you say goodbye to someone you can't let go?

being in love is funny yet it help us a lot. love inspire us, made us happy and at the same time mad and jealous. questions are, how do you say goodbye to someone you can't let go? how can you say its over when your still holding on? can love still be the answer when both concerns are at each others neck?

First of all, please know that everyone has a right to be with who ever they want to be with and that includes you. How would you feel if the person you detests the most had the same question and you were the object of their attraction. Kind of puts things in a different light does it not?
If you are mad and jealous and at each others neck, that is not love it is a sickness called control and obsession.
If you are having this problem, a mental health professional can probably help you.
I do not know where all this is coming from where people try to hang on to something when it is not working for both parties. Either someone can not let go or someone wants to hang on and also be with someone else.
I think that love has a different spin than what is displayed in most people today.

Truly loving someone is giving them the freedom to love you or not
Truly loving yourself is choosing to be someone who uses that freedom to love you
