The Tuition Is Eight Years
You will complete the course of instruction at the Academy, unless you are disenrolled by the proper authority.
You will accept an appointment and serve as a commissioned officer in the Air Force for at least eight years after graduation – five of which must be active duty and the remainder can be served as inactive reserve. You become eligible to request a separation from the Air Force after five years of service.
Once you arrive, you will take the Oath of Allegiance. Failure to take the Oath of Allegiance will cancel all entitlements to travel expenses to the Academy as well as travel expenses back to your home.
If you entered the Academy from the Regular or Reserve component of any service and are discharged from the Academy before graduation, you will, under most circumstances, return to your former rank and branch of service to serve the rest of your obligation.
Graduates who complete pilot training incur a longer commitment. The Air Force policy in effect when you enter flight training determines the length of your commitment.

If you want to become a pilot, then the Academy is the way to go. Also, if you're intending to make the Air Force a career, the Academy is the way to go. If you do choose the ROTC route, be aware that you will be commissioned as a RESERVE officer, not and officer in the regular Air Force. You will have to serve a tour as a reserve officer, then submit a request to go into the regular Air Force based on how well you did in your first tour of duty compared to everyone else that requests the regular Air Force. For a career and/or a flying slot, the Academy is the way to go.

There is no tuition fee in the Air Force Academy, you just have to pass the entrance examination and be physically. The government will supply the uniforms, books and other needs.

There is no tuition... well not in dollars. There is in your agreement to serve in the Air Force for a certain number of years after you graduate.
But, you will get paid the entire time.

If you get appointed and accepted it's paid. But the AF Academy has been tainted lately by a lot of sex scandals. It's in Colorado Springs so the area is really nice! Good luck!

You are recommended and selected. Money does not enter into the equation.

Don't worry, if you have to ask that question in this forum, you won't be getting in.
