some retard was going 5-10 miles an hour for over 3 blocks so i passed him and i got a ticket for $114... how much will my insurance go up a month??? is that 2 points?? i'm 17 and i'm a male.. hopefully this information helps. i really would like to know.

I find it hard to believe that that person is a claims agent.
Improper passing wont show on your insurance unless you tell your insurance company. the officer who wrote you the ticket should have told you that. Pay your fine and go on with your life.

It's difficult to say how much the insurance will go up. If you end up with any points on your license, when they pull your mvr report they will see it and will have to determine if it's something they would charge against you. It could go up a little or a lot, it depends on the company, where you are and other factors, like your ageg and experience years.

If there was no accident then it will not go up. Why would you report it to your insurance company? You only report an accident.
