I am getting married in June. His sister lives down here so we went and picked out her dress at group usa, well my aunt and cousin, my maid of honor and bridesmaid, live near Detroit. I am having a hard time finding something similar and not very expensive. I looked in there catalog and couldn't find the dress. Another issue I am having is my cousin is 10 and my aunt doesn't want her to wear a strapless dress. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thread has absolutely gorgeous dresses that your bridesmaids can wear again. They're reasonably priced and available in a huge variety of colors and styles.

EDIT: I love this one: http://threaddesign.com/collections/pages/i388_27.php

They also have "junior bridesmaids" dresses: http://threaddesign.com/collections/pages/c61.php

Try http://davidsbridal.com and have many locations all over the country. They have a big selection of bridesmaid dress's. And if you do end up doing strapless, they have coordinating Junior bridemaid dress's for the 10yr old that is more appropriate. The dress prices range between $80-$150 which is pretty resonable for bridesmaid dress's.

I'm having black and white dresses as well! Although I can't help you with that coz I am in Australia I also have a young girl (she is 12) I have bought black and white dresses for the older girls and we bought a plain, a-line 3/4 black dress with shoe string straps and a white sash's for the little one. She will be wearing ballet flats as well. We are making her a junior bridesmaid.

Good Luck!

Definitely try department stores. We used to have Hechts and Lord and Taylors, currently Belks JC Pennys Dillards. Debs?

Dillards had a lot online at their website.

The other stores have really bad websites. But I would definitely go inside and look around b/c I know I have seen tons of black and white gowns during prom season.

As far as the 10 yr old goes, if she is tall enough to fit into the dresses, I would buy one of the regular dresses and simply get a seamstress to sew spaghetti straps on it. Of course being younger she could wear something different and it wouldnt matter.

Just keep looking--prom season is the PERFECT time to find tons of them. Good luck!
