Head and Shoulders is a good anti-dandruff shampoo. But I was told you just need to rinse your scalp properly after shampoo-ing it. I hope this helps...good luck!

Nizoral shampoo will get rid of the cause of your dandruff. It costs about $10-12 for a bottle, but you only use it for about a month or so and keep the leftovers for any flare-ups. (Complete instructions are on the bottle.)
Dandruff is actually caused by yeast or fungus organisms living on your scalp, sort of like athlete's foot, where they chow down on scalp oils. Your scalp responds by growing new layers of skin faster and shedding them. Most "dandruff shampoos" just loosen the flakes. Nizoral actually kills the yeast so after you go through the course of treatment, you just keep your scalp clean with regular shampoo.
I got dandruff really badly when I was trying not to wash my hair so often so my Manic Panic colors would last longer. Nizoral washed out the Manic Panic, but after a month I didn't have to use it and I've only had one or two relapses of dandruff in about 6 years.

When I got dandruff, I used Pantene Dandruff shampoo because I was using pantene everything else anyway. It worked really good and I only used it for about 2 weeks and then I stopped using it and I havent had dandruff in over 6 months. But, I didn't ever get dandruff that bad or anything, but it did help and it was really great shampoo as far as leaving my hair in good condition.

Hey, basically Head and Shoulders does a good job. For me, I have very sensitive skin and scalp. I find that using it everyday makes it dry and even more itchy. Thus I would use it on alternate day. Alternating the use of Head and Shoulders with mild baby shampoo works for me. Subsequently use it once a week to stop it from coming back. Depending on your scalp, you may just stop using it altogether. Most importantly is you need to stop scatching it as much as you can. There are bacteria in your nails that will make your scalp become very senitive.
For me, I have shoulder length hair, so i tie it up to prevent myself from touching my scalp. You can give my suggestion a try.
