Makes no difference if there are 12 years or 13 years of school. There is only so much that you can retain in high school. I do not beleive that we need to send 4 year olds to school as a lot of people do. Your kids are only babies once. I suppose some people just want the kids out of their hair so they can watch soaps or go play golf. But starting school at 6 years old has worked fine so why change it now???? Your idea is without any merit.

No. that is only the worst idea ever. First, having kids go to school young is the best way for them to learn- kids are still enthusiastic, and eager to learn when they are only 5. The older they get, the more apathetic they become toward learning. Second, the system could be set up better to retain more learning. For example, teenagers around here often start school at 7:30, which is completely unnatural. Also, the system is set up now so that kids waste almost 6 months a year, because of the extended summer break and the months of review which follow (thereby, losing the interest of the kids who otherwise could excel). Third, ask any parent, whose opinions are the most relevant here, whether they would prefer to pay 6 to 10 thousand dollars for day care for a few more years. I don't think they would view your idea as merely "frivolous."

Adding another year will be burdensome on the students and for the parents who will be paying more for the school fees. The present educational set-up must only be improved and there is no longer a need for another year of study.

The better answer to education would be to shorten school to get out at 16 with less of a summer break and have our children ready to compete with the rest of the world.

It would be without merit. If anything we need to shorten it. I think they waste too much time on stupid things and goofing off. We should start students on college credits while in high school.

If our public schools can't adequately educate our kids in 13 years, one more year isn't going to matter. They'll be just as stupid at 20 as they are at 18.

Wouldn't graduate until they were 20? That doesn't appeal to me, whatsoever.
