Is there some major problem in a relationship when you cant tell your gf you love her? I mean I like her very much but I just cant tell her I love her. Im 18, yet I just dont feel as though I really know what love is. I'm am I losing my mind or am I just a jerk?

No, you're straight.
Better not to say it, than say it and not mean it!
The fact is...most people your age , well any age for that matter,
have no idea what love is, use those words to get what they want, and say them out of obligation.
Girlfriend needs to know you care for her, but tell her the word love just is'nt something you toss around lightly.

No maybe you just aren't in love at this time . You may love her and care alot about her but give it time you will grow to love her or love someone else some day . It is so normal to have these feeling . At least you can admit it some guys lie and pretend to be in love with the girl . A women will catch hard feelings for a man faster then men do for women . Its ok if you don't tell he ryou love her. maybe you just like want to wait for the right moment to tell her. so, you're actually not losing your mind or a jerk , just thinking about it a lot because you're scared that you might hurt her .

nah, you're not jerk. if you really don't feel like it's love, there's really no reason for you to stress over it; you're still young! what you need to do is sit down with your gf and have a serious talk with her. let her know that you really carer about her, and that you like her a lot; but you have to make it clear to HER that you don't know if you're ready for the big 'L'

Some people are just really shy and can't pluck up courage.
But if you love her that much, you have to sacrifice some things for her!!

My suggestion is to be very honest with her. If you don't love her please don't tell her until you are sure, but be honest with how you feel. We as women are emotional and sometimes we need to know where we stand so just be honest.
