I put a kiddie perm in my daughters hair and now her hair broke off and is very damaged. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get her hair to grow back?

First, take her to a salon and get the damaged ends clipped. Then you wanna make sure at home that you are properly moisturizing her hair every day. (aside: DO NOT wash your daughter's hair every night. That is THE worst thing you can do for damaged African American hair. Our hair has a hard time producing natural oils so to wash it everyday would be stripping it of the moisture that it need so badly right now. Wash, at the most, twice/wk.)
If you can cornrow or know someone who can, you probably want to keep her hair braided as much as you can while it's growing out. DO NOT use any perms, dyes, relaxers, texturizers ect on her hair! When her new growth is long enough, cut off the permed part and please, PLEASE don't use ANY MORE chemicals on her hair until she is waaaay older (and then go to a trusted salon). Those things are CAUSTIC, no matter what the box says.
Also, a little known fact about African American hair: When you are from the ages of about 8-12 years, the grade of you hair changes. It is only AFTER this change that you should put chemicals on your hair. I'm Black and my mom waited until my sister and I were 14 to put a perms on our heads (our grade changes took a bit longer), but it was GLORIOUS afterward. And trust me, I'd never had what you'd call "good" hair. My hair stayed long and healthy and beautiful and I never had problems with breakage or dryness or anything like that.
(... recently, I cut it all off and went back natural. nappy hair is kinda like that guy that you just can't quit :)

Use eden beauty supply on her hair. The girl that invented this stuff made it because she had a perm and her hair was falling out. Its made of all naural stuff. Silk elements silken child silk moistureizing cream. Neutrogena's triple moisture deep recovery hair mask. And mabye take her to a proffesional black salon(they know everything about perms). ((Experiance))

Unfortunately you are going to have to take her to the salon to get her hair cut which will probably result to being much shorter. Don't apply any heat to her hair just take her home and use a good shampoo and conditioner (Pantene for colored women) and then once a week use a good conditioner for her hair like a mask, Pantene has one for colored women. Just keep her scalp greased and don't keep her pony tails or braids too tight which can also result to her hair breaking. Most importantly, stay away from any kid relaxers for her hair. Her hair needs to get back strong and healthy. Good luck!!
