Christianity, Islam, and Judaism believes humanity is evil by nature, that human beings are sinners doomed for eternal hell-fire, without Jesus, YHWH, or Allah {that is Muhammed's teachings).
Buddhism teaches that mankind is good, but has some faults which mankind can grow out of, to fully live up to humanity's fullest potential, and to acquire peace of mind and happiness.
Humanity is not bad, or evil, or sinners, despite what other religions books{which they follow) tell them. Peace starts with each and every individual. Each person is responsible for his or her own peace of mind, happiness and destiny, and a person's destiny, peace of mind and happiness should not be left in the hands of another person or in the hands of a god. We should take full responsibility for our future, decisions, destiny and happiness, and not relinquish our Free Will to another person or in the hands of some imaginary god.

Real Answer: Neutral. The moral code that you personally build through experience, religion, and your parents is what tips the balance.
Sarcastic Answer that's sure to rile up the Zealots and Fundies: Humans are Neutral, the D&D Character Manual says so.

Neither.
It is inherently selfish, like ALL life.
However this same selfishness has helped lead to society and law, which translates into a better chance of survival, which is the motivation for being selfish.

Evil, but when you know Jesus, your heart is made perfect . You are still however in the "flesh" and temptation still comes but now you have a guide that will make you feel remorseful. The test is now between your body and your heart.

We just try to do what will make us happy. When this destroys other lives, this is considered evil. When it benefits others, it is considered good. Sadly, we all act in self-interest.

Human beings are inherently sinful... thus their need for a sinless savior. Only one fills those shoes and it's Jesus Christ.

It's a bit more complicated than that. We all have good and bad traits in various proportions.
