What are the commandments to the Jewish faith and food consumption?

My teenagers are interseted in the Jewish Laws. I have no answers for them except for the first few books of the Bible. And how does the old reflect with the new.

The bacon must be kosher.

When Almighty YHVH calls something unclean, I want to stay away from it. Peter's vision had to do with going with Cornelius (as he said in the next chapter) it was not about eating unclean food. The Savior YAHOSHUA followed the "Jewish" rules. He didn't eat unclean stuff. People say He is our example, but no one wants to follow Him.
