I'd rather get a vasectomy...(come one he's only 20 yrs old!!!!) than risk getting you pregnant!!....c we have been together for 5 yrs...since we weree little kids...anyway. We are both in college and "love" each other and I was telling him that I wanted to make love but he "i don't have any protection!" I said it doens't matter it's not the time of the month that I can get pregnant. and then he said about the vasectomy....

Well, first of all...as the mother of 4 kids (2 of which were inadvertantly conceived when it wasn't "that" time of the month) be happy he is not like the hormone driven maniacs I went to school with. As for the vasectomy, I wouldn't worry about it unless he makes an appointment with the Urologist. Could've simply been trying to prove a point....he doesn't want to get you pregnant - and a damn good point it is! At some point in the future if you two decide to marry, etc. then be sure you are on the same page where children are concerned. For now, go to Costco and buy a huge box of condoms and enjoy yourself!

I love my gf and I feel the same way, I wouldnt have unprotected sex any time of the month with her, I don't want kids and that is an invitation for kids. there isn't a time of the month that it is impossible to have kids during, from what I've read. I don't know this for a fact, but whatever i wouldn't take my chances. If he said it like it was an insult, then it probably was, if he said it like he was pleading, then leave him alone about it for gods sake. get some pills and get him some protection. lol.

Yes a Vesectomy is PERMINIT! You can't go back. And It doesn't matter what time of the month it is you are ALWAYS at risk of getting pregnant. There are also a lot of doctors that will not preform a Vasectomy on someone at his age because it is perminat.

Condoms and the pill are alternatives... I believe* vasectomies are permanent.

Also, you can get pregnant any time of the month. It would do you well to read several books on the subject of sex before actually attempting it.

Good luck.

he's showing responsibility. Protection is needed when having sex if a child is not the intention. He doesn't want to risk being a father. Trust me a child could ruin a college education. If you are truly in love you can wait.

It is reasonable for him not to want to have sex without protection. Actually, it is very responsible. He is protecting both of you. About the vasectomy, maybe he doesn't want to have children. I would react to the news by asking questions and listening carefully.

I would say the fact that your boyfriend didn't want to have sex without protection shows how wise and mature he is. It doesn't matter if you're in love, you still need to practice safe sex until you're BOTH ready to accept the responsibilities of becoming pregnant.

The statement was a bit extreme, but what it meant was a cue to keep some condoms in your dresser. He takes the possibility of pregnancy seriously, and since *you* are the one physically burdened with carrying a child, you should too!

Oh boy girl, not the time of month you can get pregnant? You can get pregnant anytime. Maybe he doesn't want kids? Better see where your relationship is going.

He simply is not ready to be a father and be responsible for child support for 18 years.

One smart guy - seriously!
