Make sure you hold the gauze down firm, probably dyring sleep the mouth opened and the gauze was not putting pressure on the area. You were supposed to let the gauze stay in for a longer time and shut your mouth on it.
Any talking, eating or smoking will cause a problem with an extraction. If youcan get some more gauze, or a very clean soft cloth cut down to fit the mouth, hold it firm and don't talk or do anything else. Just let the area form a clot and hopefully it w9ill hold this time. The less you mess with it the better. It looks like a lot of blood but if it's not pouring out of your mouth it's really not a lot. Remember hold it firm and no talking, smoking or drinking, take the meds and rest. Good luck. Call the dentist tom. if worse.

You may have a little seepage going on, as long as it's not filling your mouth with blood your fine. If it is filling your mouth then you need to call the dentist. A moisten tea bag is what we always recommend when a patient has excessive bleeding after going home. The tea bag has tannic acid in it which aids in the formation of the clot. Just place it over the socket and apply gentle pressure for about 20-30 minutes. I believe that you are just seeing a tinge of blood on gauze and you really shouldn't be using it anymore. We always give you extra "just in case" you need it, for excessive bleeding. Ususally after about 10-20 minutes you should have discarded it and not replaced it with another gauze. You may have been pulling the clot loose by changing the gauze, so just leave it uncovered unless you use the tea bag. Be sure to follow the dentist instructions, no straw, nothing hot, no smoking, no spitting and no carbonated drinks. Use the ice packs tonight and you can have ice cold drinks of tea, water, milk, juices, smoothies and ice cream along with warm soup with softened crackers. Then tomorrow rinse your mouth out with warm salt water several times a day and exercise your jaw by opening and closing wider each time to regain full function of your jaw, if this was a molar tooth that was extracted. By tomorrow you can start to add soft foods into your diet, just avoid anything sharp, crunchy or grainy that can jab or get lodged in the socket area creating an infection. Hope I was of some help and I'm sure your just being over cautious as most patients are. Use the wet tea bag for 15-30 minutes and I'm sure if you follow all instructions you'll be fine. Good luck and hope you are feeling better tomorrow.

You really need to call the dentist and go back in, they could have left some of the root in there, could have an infection, or even dry socket. Please tell them that the otc pain relievers are not working and ask them for a prescription for something stronger. You should not be in this much pain for one tooth, even if they had to dig. I had 4 teeth pulled was in some pain, and was back to work in a day and a half. And I'm the biggest chicken around here. God luck hon.

Depends how bad it's still bleeding, if it's only a little on the gauze, that's normal. You may have been biting down while you were asleep. Try rinsing your mouth out with lukewarm water and salt stirred in. If it's still bleeding pure blood, not watered down weak blood, after about 10 minutes, you need to call the dentist's emergency number, or go to hospital for possible stitches in the gum.....PS...Just a thought, have you any tampons you could cut to size, to fill where the tooth was?

As long as the site isn't "gushing", you're fine. Expect the socket to bleed for 2 to 3 days. If you're that worried about it, bite on a wet tea bag for 30-45 minutes.

Get two wash clothes and get them cold put one in fridge and use one immediately on the area use ice in it (the cloth)if you have to. Or cut an old one up and wash and use those for the next 24 hrs.
The cold will help the blood clot and stop! If has not stopped by tommorow night this time, call the dentist. or if bleeding gets worse.

Moisten a tea bag and place it over the extraction site, bite gently.
It will taste bad but will stop the bleeding.
