Depends on the girl, and the guy asking her out. Chances are high that if you asked her out while she was on shift, she would have to say no, it is probably a company policy not to date a customer.
If you ran into her sometime outside of work, you might have a chance, just don't go stalking her and trying to find her.

I try not to hit on waitresses or bartenders, they get hit on all the time, and have heard it all. I have dated a bartender and recently (last week) got a waitresses phone number from Hooters. She had a drink with my friend and I after her shift ended. She offered her #. I called her and after talking to her for 5 minutes I realized I don't ever want to talk to her again.
