So, I'm really confused...for those of you who haven't been following my guy problems: Theres this guy that I sit next to in class, who's been looking and smiling at me for a while and I finally got the nerve to talk to him today. I complemented him on something and all he said was thanks...that was all, he didn't extend the conversation anymore, and he's usually really talkative to other people. Does his reaction mean he's not into me? I don't understand...

wow you freak out over nothing.... he doesnt know much about you so what would he talk to you about? when he gets to know you more he will talk more...

I usually make less conversation with people I like. That's just me though. plus there isn't much more you can say than thanks when someone complements you, besides complementing back on the same thing (and i don't do that to anyone my age, so i don't think it's anything to worry about). settle down, just because he makes his answers short doesn't mean he doesn't like you, but if you flirt w/ him or something like that and he makes it obvious he doesn't want to flirt or he moves away from you or something, don't press your luck. The most you'll get out of a guy that doesnt like you is a guy that will use you. this is from a guys perspective, btw.

Well u just can't go on that. Maybe he wants to get to know you but didn't think of extending the conversation or maybe he's shy because he likes you. I think you should trying getting his phone number and talking to him learning some intrests and then maybe you should tell him how you feel and see if he feels the same way about you.

It doesn't usually mean that he hates you. It may mean that he's too shy to talk to you (or rather a girl, infact). You say that he smiles at you. That means he does like you, only thing, he's too shy to return the gesture.
Maybe you will have to try to talk to him between the classes, about general topics, let's say, the topic taught in the previous class, .. or things like that.
You will have to try and break the ice if he's to shy to talk to you.

It seems like this guy is usually pretty nice and stuff TOWARDS you, but he never acuatlly said anything. So when you do say something to his face, and all he sayz is thanx, then I think that sort of proves he likes you. He's probably doesn't want you to kno the truth. So dont mind that he acts all uninterested.....it's probably an act. He doesnt rly know if you like him.

you are over thinking it, there is not much else to say but thanks, maybe next time you could try and think of a conversation and see how that goes before you decide what hes thinking. He could be shy around you because he likes you, or maybe he really just didn't know what else to say. Try again and see how it goes.

The fact that he was uncharacteristically curt with you may mean he does like you. Or, he doesn't.
Relationships are fun. Just keep trying and don't let the smallest triviality determine the extent of the relationship, immediately.

he could like you and just be nervous
or he might not be into you
you have to try to carry a conversation with him
ask him what he is in to, what he does after school
say
What are you doing today after school, and if he says he has plans see if you can tag along unless he is with some other girl

Well most of the time people only say Thank you don't they? what else would they say "oh you want me to give them to you?" no i don't think so any ways.i think he doesn't hate you but rather likes you he is just to nerves to talk to you sense he likes you. that's how most people are when it comes to the person they like. yes maybe you are saying oh but he is not shy around other. like i said it is because he thinks you are cute and doesn't want to look stupid. yup that's what i think.........

His reaction could mean that he likes you and he is at a loss of words around you. I would continue to talk to him.
