please help me! my one friend was once suscidal. she tryed to kill her slef twice and she used to slit her wrist. now she lives with her gram and she want to send her to a meantal hospital where she wont be ale to see her friends and her boyfriend. well her boyfriend isn't talkiong to her and shes cutting herslef again because he was always the one that got her throught it last time and i don't know what to do. i know if she has to leave she will kill herself beacuse she doesn't want to go back there again and i don't know how to help her. please someone help me! i need to do something befor she does something really stupid!!

I would encourage her to see a doctor and ask for a referral for treatment, saying you will go along with her as a support, at first. Another thing would be if you could get her to phone or email you, or preferably a support group for people with similar problems, such as those at myspace; groups or Yahoo! groups or Google; groups. Have a look at: www.relax7.com/7.php and the easily learned techniques in the blogs of Shan Eris on "tackling depression" at: www.myspace.com and go to the myspace homepage and type "cutting", "self harm", "mutilation", and "self mutilation" separately, in the bar near the top of the webpage. Ask her if she feels a little better afterwards, and try to get her to repeat this, either with you, or at home, for at least 15 mns. every day.

If you really want to help your friend, you need to understand that she is safer at a mental institution than she is at home. The hospital can help her deal with self mutilation and they can watch her more closely than her grandmother can to make sure she does not commit suicide. It may be a good thing for her to not see her boyfriend and friends for a while. That way she can focus on herself. Be the friend she needs you to be and guide her in the right direction. Help her help herself.

Goto the police station and give a complaint against the boy. Tell them that if the girl commits suicide its because of the boy and hold him responsible. I'm sure the police will determine whether the fault is with the boy or the girl and if she has to be sent to the mental rehabilitation center.

sounds to me like she should be in the hospitail.
the hospitail is not at all like you might think. it is nothing like on tv with mean nurses and shock treatments going for a dime a dozen. if you went there you would see that for the most part it looks like a not bad place to be. its not fun but there is no horror to the place and she sounds like she needs that.
if you really want to do something helpfull you should talk to her and her grandmother and suggest that you think she might be better off with another stay in the hospitail until she feels better.

she should stay in the hospital where she could kept a close eye on...there nothing we could do-maybe she should see a therapist...but otherwise good luck...
