I'm not sure what state/city you live in, but most states/cities have adoption shelters. These shelters take care of the animals and put them up for adoption. They do not euthanize these pets, but do count on donations to keep the adoption/shelters open so these pets can find good homes. As for them not wanting to be caught, it's almost impossible that you will be able to catch them. I would also complain or write a formal letter to the right authorities about what the pound did....it's not right and I consider it cruelty to animals by leaving them in the rain like that. I really hope this helps you out somehow. Good luck to you and thanks for caring enough to ask your question.

I dont know where your from but here where I live out pound wont put a cat down if you pay an adoption fee of $15.00 when you drop them off to them and even with out that they still dont like to put them down for no reason. But you could call vets and see if they keep cats for adoption I work for an animal clinic here and we board cats all the time who need homes and find them good homes so check into that. If anything elese there should be places there like noahs ark where they will take them and put them up for adoption or even put an add in the paper about them lots of people want cats and ones that are spayed or neutuerd will go first. Good luck

If you feed them, you own them.
So.. you should catch them and get them spayed/neutered or you'll just have DOZENS more....
Go ahead and have the people who caught and took care of the others do the same for the rest that you feed. Its cheaper than taking all the strays to the vet.
Have the disoriented cats released in your garage if you are worried about them. They won't like it too well, but its better than them getting rained on while recovering from the anesthesia.

if they arent hurting anything then just keep water out for them and throw some table scraps out for them when you have leftovers. if you want you can even get some cheap cat food for them 2 leave outside. if you dont have the money for that then dont worry. stray cats can fend for themselves. they can survive on mice, birds, or food they find in garbage. if you dont feed them they will eventually leave on their own. good luck

you can try to place an ad for free cats, our local papers don't charge for 3 lines of free stuff.
you have to decide what is best, you can't have it all! you don't want them but don't want a shelter to take them. that is SO WRONG OF YOU your so selfish no animal deserves you

What a situation....I guess I would just buy some cheap cat food and feed and water them, at least they stay outside.

somethings are needed to be ignored, sometimes we have the will to help but the nature has its own game.
dont worry they will also disappear and it will just be in your memories.
