Because God is outside the time-stream completely. There is no "future" or "past" for Him. Everything is the eternal present. For Him, it's still just as much 1492 as it is 2017. He is still, right this moment, watching the universe come to life under His hands, and He is equally, right this moment, watching it end. He has all of eternity to listen to the split-second of prayer uttered by a man killed in a car crash; all of eternity to watch the unfolding of every life He made. You are as much alone with Him as if you were the only being He ever created. The world and the universe have a beginning and an end, but God does not.

Dear Heorinx,

The truth is the Bible teaches us what God wants us to know about Him. So when he says in the Beginning (he's not talking about his beginning but our beginning)- in Genesis God is already there- but we see the creation of man.

Because none of us are there- we don't know. So God's beginnings are mere speculation for us. But the Bible Day 1, etc. records the beginnings of man. He created us to have a relationship with us (we may not understand why, but that's what His word tells us).

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

There has been a lot of scientific study into the area we're talking about, but the concensus among leading theologians and believing scientists is that God exists outside of time and space. God is both "in" and "not in" every single point in the universe at any single point in time. This explains the idea of "omnipresence."

So, technically, God sees everything in the universe from every time at once. There is no time or place to God. There's only everything.

"Forever" has nothing to do with time as we know it. Time as we know it does not exist.

All inspired writing comes through the subconscious mind of the one taking down the information. Thus, there is a partnership, a cooperation between the source of the info and the "scribe". To some degree, the source must use the vocabulary of the scribe, or medium. Thus, "beginning" made sense to the scribe(s). Also, the reader must have a base of reference...things must make sense..."Beginning" makes sense in our terms.

There is no time, once again. There is the eternal now, or spacious present. It's really quite simple.

This question is often used to support atheism. But the answer is: God IS. What IS always has been. There is no before. When Jesus said "I Am" that is what his statement meant.

We operate with linear thinking and in a time construct, so it is difficult to conceive of a time with no "before," but that is the real answer to that question.

He existed at a place called Singularity (yes its a scientific theory)
where the laws of physics don't exist and by definition neither time nor space exists.

Because that's our beginning not His. I need to go now, and I might be gone for a few days.

Before God created the universe there was no time, so its dumb to ask what he was doing BEFORE there was time. He was just being, dude, just being. Then he created this mess and now we're in it.
