As a general rule, it shouldn't affect your score at all. Unless the credit grantor reports it to the credit bureaus. But then he has to report it as 30 days late as a minimum. Well, that is incorrect, since it is only 3 days late. So they tend to stay away from doing that.

If you're talking about being 3 days late on a credit card payment it won't effect your credit score. Credit card companies don't have to report a delinquent account to your credit bureau until you are what is considered "30 days late" to them...in actual terms of your bill this would mean when you are 2 months behind on payments.

A payment made three days after the due date is not considered a delinquent account. For installment loans, such your car payment, you have to be 30 days late to be considered delinquent and thus reported to the credit reporting agencies. For revolving credit, such as credit cards, you have to be 2 cycles past due, which is almost 60 days before you're account is reported as delinquent.

Depends on the creditor. Some may say that your bill is due on the 18th and actually have an additional grace period that may protect you from being called 'late.' Plus it could be based on business days (M-F) which means that weekends work in your favor.
Your creditor report generally gets messy when you have 30 day lates and higher.
