MY neighbor's starve their dogs not to the point of death but pretty close. I have called the animal control about it. All that they do is go to the house look at the dog and give them citations after citations. When animal control does come to their house and citate them, they feed the dogs for a month or so. Then they neglect the dogs again. Plus they keep getting new dogs. Then the get rid of them. They hit and kick and torture the dogs but all animal control does is citate them.

Vidoe tape the abuse over a period of a few days or week and hand it into the police.
Call the Police and tell them about how you called the animal control about it and they do nothing.

That's just horrible! All you can do is keep calling Animal Control and hope that these sorry people will get so tired of it they give the dogs up. I feel so bad for you, too, if I knew that kind of treatment was going on next door to me, I'd be miserable. I don't know how many citations one must get before the dogs are confiscated or if there's a limit. Maybe your other neighbors could keep complaining to Animal Control, too. Good luck.

I would try and video the abuse, then you will have evidence to the fact that they are abusing these animals. On the front page of today's paper where I live.....Amarillo, Texas, there was a story about a man being at work and the sheriffs dept. came and took the mans 5 pit bulls on an allegation of abuse and neglect. Which wasn't true. They euthanized the dogs and then left the man a note on his front door. I would keep calling them until they do something. We both know this is wrong and those people do not deserve those poor dogs. Good Luck.

have you tried calling the police instead? i would try that and if nothing is done i personally would take the dogs myself and turn them over to a different association such as the humane society. or call the local news stations and see if they would be interested in running a story, that might get animal control to start doing its job!! where i live they have a program called "call for action" run by a local news station and if there is something going on you feel isn't right and the proper authorities won't do any yhing they will.the # is 816-432-9312. this is in missouri but maybe they can put you in touch with someone who can help you if they are unable to,

You have to be able to provide visual documentation or no one will do squat about it. If it's possible, take photos or shoot some video of their actions. Once you have that, you stop calling animal control, and go to the cops to file a complaint. If that does no good, you take the documentation to the code enforcement office (usually in City Hall), and also to the city manager. Tell them you are disgusted with this clear and continuous violation of the laws and demand an explanation for why nothing is being done.

And if THAT gets nowhere, go to the local paper.

Until you have some sort of documentation other than "But I saw them do it!", you'll get nowhere.

Call the police and turn them in for Animal Cruelty. The police will co-investigate the case with Animal Control and if as you say, they have already been cited numerous times, the dogs will be removed from their home, pay hefty fines and, if (As others have suggested) you have evidence, will end up in court.

I am in agreement with Ashley C also.
You can't beat EVIDENCE!

PS...I also wonder if some of your local veterinarians might have some direct contact names of animal control personnel who could be reached to get quicker action?
