your a little confused. im not being mean, but what that means, is adam was created out of dust. Later when people die, they end up decomposing and end up dust. its more physically. Everything on earth is natrual. EVERYTHING. its all made from diffrent chemicals, or substances combined. even when our physical body is dead, our spirit is alive. Get it? =]

We do die and return to the dust. Eccl. 9:5 says no conscience thought.
John 5:28 Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out those who did good things to a resurrection of life and those who did bad things to a resurrection of judgement.
The judgement day just ahead when all mankind will be judged.
Revelation 20:2 1000 years of peace.

God created Adam from the dust and at Christ's return, our bodies will return to the dust because we will die. Those who believe in Christ will spend eternity with Him, but our bodies (which were described as tents) will no longer be needed, because the Lord has prepared a mansion (new body) for those who believe in Him.

It means we came from the earth, itself.
Today, this is very much in doubt.
Current science has proven that creation
forms when energy bits called "quarks,"
explode and interface with invisible forces
we know as Laws Of Physics.
Time and space are merely by-products
of this reaction.
Human energy has two stages: quantum and
particle. There is a growing belief that we
don't really come from our parents. Rather,
we come through our parents. This might
explain why each living creature is so
defined upon birth.
Bottom line: It's possible we come from a
quantum cycle where we eventually return.
For what it's worth.

In Genesis, it says that God made man from dust. When we die, our body, not our soul, will turn into dust. Our spirit will go to Heaven or Hell depending on whether we are a Christian or not.

When you enter the afterlife you don't have a physical body. The term dust is talking about dirt. The bible says that God made us from a handful of dirt.

We are made up of body soul and spirit. Our body dies and returns to dust, but our spirit lives on. Depending whether or not we have been born again by God's Spirit, depends on where we will spend eternity.

God formed Adam from the dust of the ground (Genesis), and when the physical body dies, it will decay and return to dust.
The soul does not die, just the physical body.

The bible (like most intellectuals understand) is meant to be taken metaphorically. We are from the earth and to the earth is where we return. When life first took place, we came from the depths of the ocean.
When a human corpse deteriorates, his/her body is dissolved back into the world by rotting, being eaten by carrion creatures, etc.
The real verse was 'From God we came and to God is our return'.
Good question.
