I think it depends on the look you are going for. It is definitely great in terms of styling (say if you want curls and it's straight). Long, thick hair is so heavy it pulls curls out.

I personally do not like it. Most days I like to have my hair all one length and very sheen looking without adding product, but when I've had it thinned (a long time ago). It seemed as though I would have many "flyaways."

My sister has curly hair and she loves it!!! Wouldn't do without it (says it makes her hair look smaller).

Talk to your stylist, they might have more info for you to make an easier decision.

You can thin it out. I have very thick hair too. Ask for long layers. Make sure you specify that thats what you want otherwise they may give you another kind of layer. Then ask her/him to thin the underside of you hair because if you thin out the entire thing, you hair will be frizzy and all over the place.

i have the same problem, i would get it thinned, only because there are more styles to do with that sort of thin ness i guess you would call it. But thick hair is great, and believe it or not, your lucky to have it, so get it thinned out if you can and se how you like, if you cant, then just considder yourself blessed. really. lol. its a great thig to have =)

having it thinned will obviously make it thinner but your hair might get a little shorter. when your hair is thinned, it's easier to damage it and you will get split ends if you use hot irons [ staighteners, curling irons etc.]
