My sister and my best friend share the same birthday. They do not know each other. Both are having big parties this year and I have been invited to both. They are 250 miles apart.

Which one do I go to?

my fisrt thought was sister - definitely,

but when i thought about it i was torn it depends on things like which event you live closest to, how much time you get to spend with each of them, how practical it is to attend either one.

good luck with your decision.

Difficult one - You could simply toss a coin to help you decide
- Could depend on your finances, travelling 250 miles can be costly. Can you afford it? Which one is likely to be the most hurt if you don't attend? Who do you like the best? Which patry are you likely to enjoy more? No doubt you can think of many more things to help you decide if you really think about it. Remember 'Blood is thicker than water" as in family. Also remember 'You can choose your friends but you can't choose your relations'. Good luck, trust you have a brilliant time whichever party you go to!

I agree with Mike maybe you could invite one to the othersparty family should be first priority your friend should understand if she doesnt understand maybe you should retink the friend situation and figure out which is more important if my brother failed to come to my Bday party I would honestly be hurt, although I am sure I would tell him it was okay,(BUT I WOULD BE HURT) good luck and happy birthday to them both.....

Well as you say your a man of a God I'm sure your
honest, therefore be honest with yourself and decide
whos company you prefer.

And of course being so honest you will be fully congruent
with the potenially dissappointed party in your explanation,
beside why do you have to be with someone with who you
are accidently connected to by birth if your choice is to be
with someone who chose you as a friend.

This is only my opinion, but I think you should go to your sister's party and see if your friend can be invited to attend, then maybe you can make it a double celebration.

The question is....how often to you get to see your sister.....and how often your best friend. I'm sure who ever you get to see the most will understand that you need to be at the other one. Make sense?

Sister. Explain to your best friend and tell him/her you`ll be over to celebrate with them at a later date, and the celebrations on you!

My moto is always family first ... you could maybe go see your friend at a later time and celebrate his/her birthday then.

Neither. If you can arrange to fall out with both, you could save a fortune too.
