I applied for a job at a call centre for the government. They called me in to do the written test (along with a group of people). Then, the following week, I was tested orally (mostly to test if I was bilingual-I live in Canada). It's been a week now, and I'm anxiously awaiting a call. There's no number to call them, so I can't do that. The woman who interviewed me said that she didn't know when/if I was going to be called, because she's not the one doing the hiring.A recent coworker that I used as a reference was called, so I'm assuming that's a good sign...
When do you stop waiting? Is a week too soon to lose hope?

A week is too soon to lose hope. I would give it at least 2 more weeks. Unfortunately these days, employers are very bad about getting back to those individuals who did not get the job. So don't hold your breath, you may never officially hear one way or the other. Good Luck!
