Sounds to me that she's overwhelmed. Maybe too much work: doing laundry and dishes at 11pm,?,,she's probably exhausted. I can't be sure if she loves you or not,,,,,but if I had to choose one way or another I'd say,,,,,Yep.... Mom's sometimes get tired and cranky....say things they don't mean. Remember the old saying,,,,you only hurt the one you love?..Well,,,,by the time she gets home she's frazzled, and by 11pm your the one there to take the brunt of it. The problem sometimes is that when we behave a certain way for a long time,,it becomes a bad habit. When she's rested and relaxed, try to talk to her about it. In the meantime try and be patient.

You didn't mention an age but I wonder why are you doing dishes at 11pm. If your mom is truly stressed it would be nice if she didn't have to ask people to pick up after themselves. Why not get up and do the dishes after the meal is finished. Nobody wants to have to yell to get things done. People say things they don't mean when they are under too much stress. It sounds like she doesn't know what to do or how to do a family. I would take care of my stuff and talk with the others that live in your home and tell them the same, you are only responsible for you, you can't make others do what they don't want to do. Best answer take care of you and your business and ask mom what you can do to help her. She will think she has done such a great job with you. Good luck, keep your head up, your worthy of love don't let others make you feel like you don't deserve to be loved. Love is there, I know it is.

Yes, she does. Not only she, every mother behaves similarly. It is true that they can't handle stress, afterall she is also a human being ..right? But every mother loves her own kids very much than anyone else can do.
So don't think too much about this and try to help your mother as much as you can. Then every thing will be alright. OK?

She does. If she didn't, she wouldn't feel guilty and feel she needs to ask for the apology later. When people say "it's not you - it's her" It really is! I would bet she heard her parents, or someone in her life use "lazy piece of sh*t" in the past. We seem to repeat things we've heard. It's hard to let go of what we know. But it sounds like she is trying - though her apologies. She loves you.

I guess you know why your dad is not around. Sounds like a hormone problem. Your mom probably loves you, moms that don't love their kids usually split or take off for long periods of time. You mom is just fumbling through life and doesn't have a clue what it is all about.

How old is she? She may be going through
menopause. It is a hard time for some women and can start in their 30's even. Hormonal imbalances, mood swings, etc. It's a difficult time for all involved.

Most moms are like that when stressed. take her out once in a while for a change, and you'll see the difference in her. she loves you, no doubt, she's just being a MOM.
