Well you said at the end "without trying to change others" but in order to enforce that "key" that is exactly what you would have to do, at least with all the criminals, terrorists, evil or nasty people, perverts, etc.

I do not know anyone who believes this, I certainly do not believe it, because you cannot get everyone to accept love, compassion, and kindness.

The key is most likely "justice," which requires power and strength. Of course even that would be lacking, so one needs to add "mercy" to the mix. Even then, many people would not be happy since they want "more" than justice. Maybe we need to add "satisfaction" to the mix too. But then again, that would not work very well in the areas where people are dying due to disease or hunger. Hm, need to add more things...

In the long run, you end up with a very long list of morals, all of which can be found in the Word of God and no where else. Imagine how different this world would be if people loved their neighbors as much as themselves. Of course, in order to do that, you need to get rid of all the mean evil, nasty, people in a just manner which leads us to Justice and all that other stuff I mentioned earlier.

Oh well.

From what Ive examine Christianity is in certainty progressively increasing in terms of 'industry proportion' regardless of the certainty that no longer as rapid as Islam. I specific do no longer see this as a sturdy factor. in case you seem decrease back at history greater violence has been committed interior the call of God than the different single reason.something which will improve the branch of guy can in hassle-free terms bring about violence. it could be completely unreasonable to anticipate each physique arrive self sustaining at one fake perception. So the only way nicely all finally end up with comparable perspectives is that if all of us undertake an info based device, ie. atheism or agnosticism. of direction nicely nevertheless have cultural transformations and supplies to combat over so perpetual peace is probably nevertheless by no skill going to happen.

Like Louis Armstrong said..."What a wonderful world"...

And like Joseph Campbell said..."As you walk on your path in Life, birds will sh** on your shoulder. Do not bother to brush it off."...

What he means is, the world is a glorious mess, has always been and always will be. That's the beauty of humanity. In Buddhism there is a concept of finding joy in spite of the worlds' sorrows.

It would truly be an awesome thing if we could accomplish love, compassion and kindness all at once. That's the ultimate goal, isn't it?

YES~!!!!!!!! This is the whole concept of Buddhism. Well the basics. Eastern spirituality is a more compassionate world. Oh, and it worked for Gandhi. It worked for Martin Luther King Jr. So don't take BS from those who no longer feel compassion. "If every man helped his neighbor, no one would be without help"-Ancient proverb (forgot exact source, but it's a quote from Civilization IV so you know its accurate.)

It's a nice thought, but even if a personality of altruism was shared by every single person on the planet, natural genetic and behavioral differences would make the paradise of sharing and caring hard to maintain.

Besides, we currently have many conflicting opinions about thousands of topics, even if we all decide to agree on one... which one?

understanding is also another one. you cannot love or be kind or compassionate toward anything if you do not understand it. sure selfless acts help, but if you understand the world and the issues, the acts are much more specific and you can do the ones that the world needs.

Oh sure and everyone is ready to do that?
But you are right everyone did that we would have a wonderful world.
Isn't it strange that the earth could be a paradise for everyone if they would just stop fighting. But I am afraid that it is believe my way or else die. So in the end no one has peace.

Impossible. We all have our own values that vary greatly from culture to culture. People have different ideas about what is kindness even. Now, throw logic and reason in there with love and understanding and you might have something.

You live in a sheltered world. There are millions in this world wondering where their next mouthful of food will come from. They have little time to ponder love, compassion and kindness. They want to eat.

As a Buddhist, I must raise my hand... altruism and wisdom is the key to all of that which you listed, but it's not for everyone... due to the causes and conditions of a person's life, some may or may not be able to understand the concepts.
