I have $3500 coming to me in 8-15 days via direct deposit to my bank account. However, I need $3100 within the next day or so. Is there anyone that does this?

I don't know of any agency that would provide a short-term loan based on the refund if you've already filed it. Jackson Hewitt and H&R Block offer the OPTION of giving a refund anticipation loan, which is of course your choice. It looks like right now you will just have to sit tight and wait for it, or see if a family member or friend can loan it to you.

PS I don't know what H&R Block is doing these days, but Jackson Hewitt does not charge astronomical interest rates. If there are any outrageous interest rates in some tax prep offices, it is not that offices rate, it is HSBC's rate plan (that's the bank that tax offices use for RAL's)

To get a refund anticipation loan, you must have your taxes prepared by the firm giving you the loan. But with the fees they charge, you'd be much better off getting a cash advance from your credit cards, then paying it off when your refund arrives.

If you've already filed, it's too late now. That's probably just as well; the tax prep mills that do that charge upwards of 2,533% APR for those loans. I know a couple of bookies who charge less than that.
