I have a massive migraine headache. I feel like I want to die. It's making me completely ill to my stomach, light sensitive and noise sensitive. I'm also getting lots of hot flashes. I have about an hour until I can get home where I have migraine medicine. Any suggestions of what I can do until I can get home? I'm at a total loss.

Unfortunately, the only thing that worked was taking migraine medication and sitting in the dark when I got home :( I drank some water at work to help and rubbed my temples but it made me start throwing up and then I threw up 4 more times on the drive home (had to pull over and lean out the door...it was so bad) and had terrible hot/freezing cold flashes. Thankfully my med is Maxalt which is sublingual, but I had to take 2 of them and after getting home around 6p had to take another at midnight. Still have a bit of a tension headache today. Have taken some tylenol and drank some coffee for the caffeine. Thanks for getting back to me so quick though, but, you were 100% there wasn't anything to do until I got home and took my migraine pills and go into bed to sleep and in the dark. Dunno why I thought anything else would work :P nothing else ever has before. Why I have the pills for the occasional migraine, darned stressful job causing tension headaches.

The best thing is to sit quietly in a dark place.
Sorry, sounds like this won't be possible till you're home.

Headaches and migraines are fairly common during pregnancy. You can take regular tylenol - if that'll help at all. Oh and make sure you drink lots of water, dehydration doesn't help the situation either. I find that drinking 1 soda works. I think the caffeine makes it at least a bit more tolerable and I feel better having 1 soda than putting drugs in my system. Then I lay down, dark room, eyes closed, cold rag on head and just wait for it to go away. If nothing else helps, I'd call your doc, they probably have better options for you. Good Luck, I feel for ya!

Sit in a completely dark room as still as you possible can. Cover your eyes as well, if you can still see light. Also try rubbing the fleshy part between your thumb and pointer finger. Over the counter migraine relief is usually a combination of advil, aspirin, and caffeine so if you can get a hold of any combination of these three take them.

Most migraines are chemical storms in the brain caused by overstimulation. So GET OFF THE COMPUTER!!!

Put some ice in a towl and place it on pain. Try neck, temples, eyes and forehead until you find your particular pressure point. It seems to dull the nerve or something. It's not a cure, but I use it to take the edge off to get cat naps when I have a migraine and can't sleep. GL

Take some Excedrin and drink LOTS of water. I get horrible migraines all the time. I'm on topamax and some other anti-convulsants to try to keep them under control, but the headaches are getting worse and more frequent. One thing that I have noticed is that my headaches get worse if I am dehydrated. And juice or tea doesn't help. Soda makes them worse. It has to be water.

Cold compress to your forehead and neck drink a cup of coffee, wear sunglasses if you have them. If you vomit chances are it will go away in an hour or two. Take a couple of advil for migraine or tylenol. Good luck honey...When you get home go to dark room cold cloth, no noise, migraine medication

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information
